CapabAI

For Australian SME owners

A hyper-app over the accounting software you already use.

CapabAI does not replace Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks Online. Bank feeds and reconciliation come from the connected books app. CapabAI sits on top so you can confirm BAS and company tax without an accountant retyping the ledger.

Xero

Connect the Xero organisation you already run. Bank feeds stay in Xero.

MYOB

Bring CapabAI over the MYOB file your bookkeeper already maintains.

QuickBooks Online

QBO remains the system of record. CapabAI reads it; it does not replace it.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Keep your books app

CapabAI is not another ledger. Xero, MYOB, or QBO stays where invoices, bank feeds, and reconciliation already live.

  2. Step 2

    Connect during onboarding

The product app at go.capab.ai connects to the accounting software you already pay for. During development that is a personal Xero subscription.

  3. Step 3

    Confirm, then lodge

BAS and company tax packs are drafted from those books. You confirm exceptions and approve — never re-key a blank form.

Industry packs

Cafes, plumbing, carpentry, dental practices, and online clothing stores get checks written for that work. Other Australian small businesses keep the same hyper-app. Bank feeds and reconciliation stay in Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks. Nothing on this page is a lodged return, a live integration, or a price.

Cafes

A cafe pack that reviews mixed GST coding, sourced ATO benchmark inputs, wages against sales, supplier unit prices, and payday-super receipts — from the books, with the accountant still in the loop.

Check the GST split before you lodge. This release does not send that message as a campaign.

The intended model is a low monthly fee, because cafes are price-sensitive and BAS coding mistakes are costly. No price is set in this release.

  • Square and Lightspeed are planned channels, not connected listings.
  • Coffee roasters are a possible referral channel. None has been contacted.

Plumbing

A trades pack that drafts a TPAR workpaper from contractor bills, and reviews ABN and GST flags, labour-only super risk, private use, assets, overdue invoices, and cash runway.

Approve your BAS from the ute — meaning the owner reviews a projection, not that lodgement happens from a job app.

No trades price is set in this release.

  • ServiceM8, Tradify, and simPRO are planned read-only channels. They are not connected.
  • Industry bodies and trade-counter partnerships are not in place. No flyers were sent and no member discount exists.

Carpentry

The same building-and-construction checks as plumbing. Carpentry is not a separate tax ruleset.

A July–August TPAR reminder is content only. No campaign is sent.

No carpentry price is set in this release.

  • Same planned job-software channels as plumbing. None is connected.

Dental practices

CapabAI works with that accountant. It reviews GST coding for treatment and products, prompts a state-aware payroll-tax review of associate arrangements, and reads equipment and any settlement lines that are already in the books.

Built to sit beside the practice accountant, not to replace them.

The intended model is a higher price point than a cafe, because practice revenue and the cost of a GST or payroll-tax mistake are higher. No price is set in this release.

  • ADA branches, practice consultants, and dental accounting firms are possible channels. None has been contacted.
  • Centaur (D4W) and Core Practice are harder links and are not connected. The pack starts from the books.

Online clothing stores

A layer over reconciled books: payout arithmetic, import and export GST prompts, advertising-invoice GST, and stock and seasonal cash. It is not another Shopify-to-ledger connector.

Founder communities, podcasts, and newsletters are possible later. Nothing has been published to them from this release.

The intended model is tiers based on monthly order volume. No prices and no tier boundaries are set, because order volume is not connected.

  • A Shopify App Store listing is not submitted. Shopify agencies are not signed partners.
  • A2X already reconciles Shopify to Xero for many stores. CapabAI is positioned as the review layer after the books are reconciled, not as a replacement connector.

With the accountant, not instead of them

Accountants can recommend CapabAI to clients in a segment. The product prepares a review pack from the books so the accountant is not retyping. CapabAI does not replace the accountant, and this release has no partner portal, no referral fees, and no outbound partner contact.

Dental practices often already have a specialist accountant. The dental pack is written to be used with that accountant.

Partner program: not launched. No one has been contacted.

Deadline messages

These are lines the product can show later. This release does not send email, ads, or partner campaigns.

  • In the weeks before quarterly activity-statement due dates, generally 28 October, 28 February, 28 April, and 28 July. Confirm the ATO date if it falls on a weekend or public holiday.

Check the GST split before you lodge.

    Every segment that lodges quarterly.

  • July and August, ahead of the 28 August TPAR due date.

Draft the contractor report from the bills already in the books, then review it with your accountant.

Building and construction businesses, including plumbing and carpentry, that have to report contractor payments.

  • Before 30 June, for businesses considering an asset purchase.

Ask whether an eligible asset costing less than $20,000, for a small business under the $10 million aggregated-turnover test, could be written off if it is first used or installed ready for use in that income year. This is a prompt, not a claim.

Trades, and any other segment whose accountant is looking at the instant asset write-off.

  • Each payday from 1 July 2026.

Check that super can reach the fund within 7 business days of payday, unless a longer rule applies. The June 2026 quarter still followed the quarterly due date of 28 July 2026.

Employers, including cafes, and trades that pay super for eligible contractors.

Illustrations, not case studies

No customer has given a measured result for this release. The scenes below are hypothetical. They are not hours saved and not errors caught in a real file.

Hypothetical illustration

A fictional cafe reviews takeaway coffee coded GST-free

Lumen & Rye Cafe is a fictional business. In the illustrative extract, takeaway coffee is coded GST-free and dine-in plain milk is coded GST-free. The cafe pack raises those lines for accountant review and leaves an uncategorised pastry as not evaluated.

Hypothetical illustration

A fictional plumber reviews a contractor bill with no ABN

Harbourline Plumbing is fictional. The illustrative extract drafts TPAR rows from contractor bills and shows a labour-only bill with no ABN recorded. No report is lodged and the ABN is not checked with the ABR.

Hypothetical illustration

A fictional practice reviews whitening and an associate arrangement

Brightmolar Dental is fictional. The illustration uses Queensland so the ended dentist amnesty can be mentioned. Whitening coded GST-free and a contractor service-fee associate are review items. No payroll tax is calculated.

Hypothetical illustration

A fictional clothing store reviews a payout gap and an export

Paperbark Apparel is fictional. The illustration shows a payout that does not equal gross minus fees minus refunds, GST on an export-marked sale, and a border shipment with deferred GST not enrolled. Nothing is posted back to the store.
